Pecan Pie French Toast

Ingredients
- 1 loaf of challah bread sliced
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of pecans
- 1 stick of unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup of packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of maple syrup
- 1/3 cup of corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- Sea salt flakes for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Arrange the sliced bread in a buttered 12-14 inch skillet or an 11×7 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla until the mixture is smooth. Pour this delightful mix over the arranged bread.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, corn syrup, and salt. Whisk everything together until it’s nicely combined. Let the mixture simmer, then turn off the heat and stir in the pecans.
