Cut-Out Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

**For the Sugar Cookies:**

  • 1 cup granulated sugar 200 g
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened (227 g)
  • 1 egg at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour spooned and leveled (344 g)
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

**For the Icing:**

  • 4-5 tablespoons milk 60-75 ml
  • 3 cups powdered sugar 390 g
  • Sprinkles for decorating

Instructions

**For the Sugar Cookies:**

  • Cream together butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  • Mix in the egg and vanilla until pale and fluffy.
  • Add flour, salt, and baking powder, and mix until combined.
  • Chill the dough for 1 hour, then roll it out on a floured surface.
  • Cut out cookies using cookie cutters, then chill them for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, then bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes.
  • Let them cool completely before icing.

**For the Icing:**

  • Sift powdered sugar into a bowl and mix in milk until smooth.
  • Transfer icing to a piping bag and decorate your cookies as desired.
  • Let the icing dry completely before serving.
