Chocolate Orange Fudge Pudding
Ingredients
Orange Sponge:
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup plant-based milk almond, soy, or oat
- ½ cup orange juice
- ¼ cup vegetable oil or melted coconut oil
- Zest of 1 orange

Chocolate Fudge Sauce:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- 1½ cups boiling water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Prepare the Orange Sponge:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or a similar-sized ovenproof dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the plant-based milk, orange juice, vegetable oil, orange zest, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
Prepare the Chocolate Fudge Sauce:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the brown sugar and cocoa powder.
- Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the batter in the baking dish.
- Carefully pour the boiling water over the top, ensuring it covers the entire surface. Do not stir.
- Drizzle the vanilla extract over the top.
Bake the Pudding:
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top of the pudding is set and the edges are bubbling.
- Allow the pudding to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Serve:
- Spoon the pudding into bowls, ensuring each serving includes both the sponge and the gooey fudge sauce from the bottom.
