Orange Cookie
You’ve probably tried a lemon cookie, but have you ever had an Orange Cookie?! 🍊 These vegan orange cookies have irresistibly crispy edges with soft, chewy centers. They’re packed with a buttery, zesty orange flavor! And the best part? You don’t need any fancy tools—just a baking tray, a mixing bowl, and a wooden spoon.
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 1/2 tablespoons freshly grated orange zest
- 1/2 cup dairy-free butter melted
- 1/4 cup dairy-free yogurt
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed orange juice
Line two baking trays with parchment paper and set them aside.
In a mixing bowl, rub the orange zest into the sugar to release the oils, then add the melted butter, yogurt, and orange juice.
Stir in the flour, baking soda, and brown sugar to form a dough.
Chill the dough in the fridge for at least 15 minutes.
Scoop out 12 portions of dough and roll them into balls.
Roll each dough ball in the powdered sugar until fully coated.
Place the dough balls on the prepared baking trays and bake at 340°F (170°C) for about 10 minutes.
If needed, use a large cookie cutter to reshape the cookies immediately after baking.
Let the cookies cool on a wire rack before enjoying!
