Salted Caramel Buttercream Recipe
This frosting is incredibly smooth, creamy, and pipes like a dream 😍. It also holds its shape perfectly when piped.
For the Frosting:
- 1 cup dairy-free butter softened to room temperature
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup Salted Caramel Sauce
For the Salted Caramel Sauce:
- 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
- 1/2 cup almond butter
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
Begin by making the salted caramel sauce. Mix together the melted coconut oil, almond butter, and maple syrup until smooth. Set aside.
Using a hand mixer or the paddle attachment on your stand mixer, cream the softened butter on medium-high speed until it becomes creamy and light in color.
With the mixer on low, gradually add the powdered sugar, making sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl after each addition.
Finally, add the salted caramel sauce and continue mixing on low speed until fully incorporated.
