- Proof the yeast by mixing it with 1/4 cup warm water and 1 teaspoon sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, whisk together bread flour, salt, and remaining sugar. Add the remaining warm water, warm milk, and proofed yeast. Knead until elastic and soft.
- Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour until doubled in size.
- Punch the dough down and divide into 10 equal portions. Shape each into a ball and let them rest for 15 minutes.
- Poke a hole in the center of each ball and enlarge the hole. Let them rise again for 15 minutes.
